Network Engineer - Implementation/Consultant - Cisco

A large UK managed services organisation is looking to recruit a Network Engineer to join their team in Harrogate.

Working on a large number of client driven projects, you will be expected to provide consultancy from a Network Engineer capacity, working with technologies such as Cisco Switches/Routers and Security tools such as ASA Firewalls, Checkpoint and/or Juniper.

As a Network Engineer you will be responsible for liaising with the customer and working alongside pre-sales teams to provide technical designs to customer network solutions.

Key Skills

• Circa 10 years' Network Engineer/Consultant experience
• Cisco Certified - Ideally CCIE
• Advanced knowledge of Networks - WAN, MAN, MPLS and LAN
• Experience of Network Implementation Projects
• Full understanding of network protocols - TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP & IPv4/IPv6
• Excellent communication and customer implementation service skills - proven experience of liaising with customers, vendors, suppliers and other network engineers
• Working knowledge of security/Firewall technologies - Cisco ASA, Juniper, Checkpoint, Fortigate etc.
• Ability to work independently

Responsibilities

• Create technical design documents of customer Network solutions based on understanding of customer/pre-sales requirements
• Work with PM's and customer provisioning team to prepare Project documentation for customer sign-off
• Take ownership of Network Implementation - ensuring project timescales are met
• Offer your expertise as a Network Consultant to the client and pre-sales teams, offering support throughout the project implementation cycle.
• Act as a Network Escalation Point and offer supervision to other network engineers
• Prepare hand-over documentation for support teams

Salary

Up to GBP50k per annum depending on experience
