A DevOps Engineer is required to work for a multi award winning Specialist Investments firm. This is a very interesting and challenging new hybrid type role working for an exciting, dynamic and well talked about organisation; mixing PHP development and Linux server administration to result in the Engineer being instrumental in both the future design of the application and the high availability platform that powers it.

Responsibilities and essential technical skills include:

• Managing server administration of the application built by the Back End and Front End teams, therefore strong Linux is a must.
• This cutting edge platform is high availability low latency platform, therefore you will need to not only have strong infrastructure knowledge but also be able to build workable system alerts.
• The build process needs to be automated and deployed to multiple Servers within the Rackspace environment - (project work).
  Back End PHP development and the ability to produce clean testable Server Side code is essential. As well as MySQL
• Experience working in a cloud environment with multiple machines
• Keeping the server technology side of the business at the cutting edge of the industry
• Demonstrable experience in the following technology are also a must: Nginx, Vagrant, Chef/Puppet, Capistrano/Fabric and Nagios as well as experience of consuming and producing APIs using REST.
• Any knowledge of Laravel and web/mobile payments systems would be very desirable but not essential, although a desire to take on new technologies such as Laravel would be expected.
• As this will be a new key hire, experience of introducing structure and process into the department would be highly beneficial.
