An Exciting opportunity has arisen to join a high profile client of ours, based in Leeds, Bradford, York or Manchester. The Commercial Manager will be expected to lead on contractual negotiations working alongside senior stakeholders working on rail projects.
Key Tasks/Deliverables
- Lead on contractual negotiations and variations
- Address day-to-day commercial issues
- Deliver ad hoc workstreams within the Directorate
- Yield Management
- Revenue Generation
Key Skills/Experience
Achieving Commercial Outcomes
- Experience of working with complex, large scale, very high-value projects and commercial transactions including the development and approval of business cases, monitoring progress both through reports and face-to-face contact with colleagues and suppliers at senior level internally and externally, including participation in project board meetings.
- Capability to both support and challenge, and taking corrective action where necessary, including acting to promote good practice and proven processes between different projects.
Delivering Value for Money
- Ability to synthesis large amounts of complex information from a broad source of disciplines, identify and mange key risks and formulate robust positions.
Managing a Quality Service
- Ability to manage resources appropriately to deliver the necessary objectives for the Department, ensuring that the quality of service is upheld and that appropriate programme and project management, risk management and financial resource management skills are delivered effectively.
- Understanding of commercial, financial and economic tensions which surround the delivery of franchise services and contracted levels of subsidy.
Candidates will preferably have had experience of working in the rail sector and/or the public sector.
