An exciting new opportunity for a Surveyor has opened within the Commercial team.
This role will be responsible for carrying out pre-tender and full surveys for pricing and actual manufacturing purposes. It includes liaising with architects; Clients project managers and manufacturers to determine the best technical solution for each project, culminating in the processing of survey data and placing of the order with the appointed manufacturer.
A basic understanding of architectural drawings is preferable.
Reporting to the Technical Manager/Commercial Operations Manager, the key accountabilities for the role will include:
- Attending site appointments/meetings with Clients Architects & contractors to discuss technical detail and proposals
- Carrying out pre-tender surveys for pricing purposes as required
- Reviewing suitability of product, agree design options, compliance of specification and consolidate the sale by obtaining sign off of paperwork by customer, communicating technical specifics of contracts, informing customer of process going forward and passing accurate and precise information to commercial administration. Monitoring and contributing to progress and status until in manufacture
- Providing accurate measurements, accurate installation instructions and appropriate HSE documentation, including scaffold survey in order to promptly process each order
- The ability to actively identify and quantify differences between contract and survey and resolve in a timely and cost effective manner through liaison with the commercial department and client.
Professional capabilities and behaviours that you must be able to demonstrate:
- Proven experience in a commercial surveying role
- General building knowledge of the window industry or building trade
- Full understanding of current Building Regulations
- Excellent communication skills
- Good quality paperwork and documentation
- Proficient in the use of CAD software (preferable)
- Computer literate and proficient in Word, Excel
- Ability to work within a fast pace pressure environment
