Working Hours: 40 hours per week: (Alternating Shift patter, 06:00 to 14:00 and 13:55 to 21:55)

If you are successful in getting this role, you will be responsible supervising and supporting a team off Packing Engineers and the daily operation of the Packing department, working closely with Packing Supervision in each area and communicating effectively with the Engineering HOD and Works Office Management.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities include (but is not limited to):

  • To assist and support the Packaging Engineering HOD and supervise the Packing Engineers to meet all engineering requirements on a daily basis
  • To delegate, monitor and control the standards of maintenance work carried out.
  • Liaise with other functions within the business i.e. Packing, Electrical, HS&E and Technical Service's
  • To complete departmental administration i.e. Holidays, sickness cover and overtime requirements
  • Undertake specific department projects as and when required and organise necessary overhauls and reconditioning of existing departmental packing machinery
  • Lead project installations, organising the materials required including the organisation of machinery spare part orders
  • Follow set procedures for issuing permits to work, job recording, risk assessments, and hygiene systems of work
  • Develop ways to increase production and machine efficiencies by monitoring machine performance using the BDE data collection system
  • To support the continuous development of yourself and other Packing Engineering staff by monitoring and organising appropriate training in line with company policies and procedures

Qualifications / Experience:

  • Recognised and completed Mechanical Engineering qualification and/or apprenticeship
  • Previous supervisory experience not necessary but experience of team leadership would be a distinct advantage
  • Confident in the use of Microsoft Office Packages
  • Good communicator, both oral and written
