This highly successful, entrepreneurial, group of companies, encompassing leisure parks, environmental services and the buying and selling of high performance vehicles, is rapidly expanding across all areas of the business and now need extra help managing the accounting and financial functions, which is why they have created a new position for an experienced Company Accountant / Financial Controller to come on board and join them on their exciting journey.

COMPANY ACCOUNTANT / FINANCIAL CONTROLLER

SALARY: £28,000 to £35,000 Basic

LOCATION: Cambridge

As well as full exposure to all aspects of the accounts function and supporting the day to day operations of the business, this ‘hands on’ role will require you to use your own experience and initiative to provide solutions and solve problems relating to broader aspects of the business as a whole, which at times means having to go that extra mile to get the job done, even if it means working outside the normal 9-5 routine.

You will of course have regular on-going responsibilities to attend to, including: preparing monthly management accounts for each business in the group, quarterly VAT returns for companies operating under different VAT regimes, bank reconciliations, sales & purchase ledgers, P&L forecasts, etc..-  everything an experienced accountant would expect to be responsible for with an SME.

A robust and self-motivated character who is able to work on your own initiative, you’ll probably be ACCA/ACA/CIMA qualified, or qualified by experience, and could have work in either practice or industry.  The most important things are your strong all round accounts skills, knowledge of financial reporting and internal control procedures, plus a strong work ethic and willingness to do whatever it takes to get the job done.

You current or previous roles may have included: Company Accountant, Management Accountant, Financial Controller, General Accountant, Senior Accountant, or similar.
