Pre-Sales/Solutions Consultant - London

A leading managed network and infrastructure service provider operating a global network exchange spanning 200 countries worldwide is looking to hire a talented Pre-Sales/Solutions Consultant to join their rapidly expanding London office.

The customer facing Pre-Sales Solutions Consultant will qualify opportunities and provide technical design solutions to customers. The role is highly technical in nature and the Pre-Sales Consultant will work with a range of internal teams to support successful delivery of the solutions.

Responsibilities for the Pre-Sales/Solutions Consultant:

  • To be the lead technical contact/authority on the assigned accounts for all pre and post sales activities.
  • Engage with customers via face to face meetings, conference calls and emails to understand their technical and business needs.
  • Demonstrate products and proposed solutions to technical and non-technical audiences at executive and/or technical levels at pre and post sales meetings.
  • Understand future product roadmap, and become an advocate both internally and externally with customers.
  • Design a range of technical solutions both standard and non-standard with an emphasis on layers 1 to 3.
  • Attend to RFI/RFP/Bids in coordination with carrier Business, Products, Engineering
  • Prepare technical design proposals in coordination with Sales, Products and Engineering
  • Identify gaps in standard offering and propose alternatives to internal stakeholders for discussion and approval.
  • Provide technical training to various internal departments
  • Capturing technical requirements and documenting solution details, creating detailed diagrams in Visio
  • Providing handover to Service Delivery and Provisioning teams for complex orders.

Technical requirements for the Pre-Sales/Solutions Consultant:

  • Layer3 MPLS VPNs
  • Layer2 services such as VPLS, EoMPLS, EoWDM and EoSDH
  • Layer1 services such as SDH and DWDM and submarine cable systems
  • IP Transit and Internet Access
  • TDM/IP
  • Off-net solutions
  • Pricing and proposing hardware: ADMs, Switches and Routers
