Information Security Consultant

An Information Security Consultant is required to join the UK's leading engineering support services company. This is a fantastic opportunity for an Information Assurance Specialist to work with top secret information to help support the military communications and intelligence systems from land to sea

Information about the role

This role will see you responsible for providing support to a range on Information and Communication Technology system design, integration and support projects. You will gain exposure to multiple projects where you will act as the authority for ensure activities are compliant with UK government standards. You will need to provide up to date HMG/MOD IA policy and governance advice and undertake IS1and 2 compliant threat and risk assessment activities. It is also crucial for you to be able to write clear and comprehensive Risk Management Accreditation Document Sets (RMADS). The ideal candidate will also need to provide accurate security impact assessment reports in order to mitigate specific security threats to the government information.

Information about the candidate

Due to the nature of this work it is essential that the candidate is eligible for DV and ITAR clearance, if you are not, please do not apply. The ideal candidate must have an extensive experience of information assurance and security engineering in the defence environment and working knowledge of HMG guidance including HMG Information Assurance Standards (IS1/7). It is also vital that you have gained experience in undertaking threat and technical risk assessments in accordance with the CESG Technical Threat Briefings. It is also highly desirable you have understanding of functional computing and networking environments such as Unix/Linux and Virtualisation.

The package

This role is looking at paying up to a GBP 65,000 base salary for 40 hours per week. Additionally to this, you will receive: 25 days annual leave, pension, 20 days CSP, Share Save Scheme. Staff discounts on shopping, employee development allowance of GBP 125/year and a childcare voucher scheme.
