A Senior BI Developer is required to deliver high quality functional software within agreed timescales. As a member of the delivery team they are expected to design, develop and te3st enterprise software solutions.
You should participate in the definition, planning and delivery of iterations. Identifying opportunities for improvements in team and personal effectiveness. You will be required to collaborate with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Delivery Managers and all members of their delivery team.
Responsibilities
Develop BI Solutions, including data warehouses and cubes, incorporating SSIS, SSAS and T-SQL (Stored procedures etc) as well as supporting existing client environments.
Develop and maintain ETL packages for high-performance data transformation.
Troubleshoot performance bottlenecks and resolve bugs
Carry out maintenance tasks within our existing data warehouse and reporting architecture
Deliver high quality functional software within agree timescales/iterations
Deploy and support solutions through testing environments and work with test/QA teams to ensure quality
Provide estimates on new feature development, bugs and change requests
Work with the project manager/scrum master, architects and technical leads to prepare design and functional specifications
Perform code and document reviews
Participate in all Agile based meetings to ensure iterations are well defined, planned and delivered and/or provide day-to-day operational support, investigating reported software/system faults and rectifying
Review team & iteration performance to identify improvements to future deliveries
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Strong knowledge and experience of the full MS SQL Server 2012 BI Stack - SSAS/SSIS/SSRS/MDX
Expertise in SQL database and ETL design and implementation
A solid understanding of Relational and Multidimensional Database theory and practice
Good understanding of unit testing
Be aware of potential blocking, deadlocking and write code to avoid these situations
Experience of performance tuning TSQL and ETL processes
Knowledge of Powershell would be advantageous
Experience in large, complex system implementation projects
Full SDLC experience required to design, code, debug, test, document nd maintain SQL Server base systems
Familiarity with functional and no-functional software requirements
Ability to interact and communicate effectively with a wide variety of technical, functional and management staff
Clear and concise documentation skills
Agile SDLC knowledge with experience of working in Scrum teams
Knowledge of performing test driven SQL development
A proven delivery record and with a delivery focus
