Systems Engineers Needed!

Systems Engineer | UML | DOORS | LEAN | Design, Developement and Integration Experience - Permanent - Hampshire - GBP28,000 - GBP45,000

A Systems Engineer with a good understanding of design, development, and integration of large and complex Systems.

The candidate will primarily be responsible to the Architect or Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead for developing the System, including:

• Support to lead engineer in solution analysis and design activities;
• Requirements assessment and management, design of subsystem, technical impact assessment, design baseline synthesis and control;
• Support to Subsystem Specifications and Interface Requirement Specifications;
• Presentation of design at internal and independent reviews;
• Technical input to programme management and cost estimation teams; and,
• Technical risk assessment and reduction, including assessment of TPMs and TRLs.

Desired & Required Skills:

Required:

• Enthusiastic self-starter with good verbal communication
• Excellent written communication through the use of e-mail, presentation and formal reports
• Ability to work with due attention to schedule and cost constraints
• Ability to work at any point in the specification and design part of the engineering life cycle

Desired:

• Experience in GEOINT systems;
• Good understanding of various system development methodologies;
• Good understanding of the principles of software engineering, and integration and test;
• Understanding of the Unified Modelling Language (UML);
• Familiarity with the Telelogic DOORS requirements toolset would be advantageous;
• The candidate should be familiar with generation of reports and undertaking analysis using typical office environment tools such as Word, Powerpoint, Access, and Excel;
• Awareness of LEAN and/or LM21 would be an advantage in developing processes used within I&T;
• Knowledge of ITIL and its application.
