My client is leading internation investment banking player. They require a 'DevOps' candidate to work on projects and provide day to day technical support for the system.
THE ROLE:
*Provide day-to-day hands-on technical support for the designated business application(s) and their Linux environments
*Provide resource to project initiatives involving designated business application(s) systems
*Develop new methods for ease of system support and system stability
RESPONSIBILITIES:
*Extensive hands-on Linux SA
*Specifying, configuring and implementing all Linux environments
*Providing day-to-day support of the production, test and development server environments
*Providing technical support to development and infrastructure projects
*Providing production support, on a shift basis to agreed hours when its required
*Providing overnight on-call support on a rota basis
*Maintaining full documentation of systems, fault resolutions, and incident investigations in line with the ITIL standard
*Testing new software releases, patches and upgrades
*Liaising with other technical support teams
*Liaising with IS&D and other stakeholders
*Installing new Servers, understanding the performance and resilience characteristics of the key hardware and software components and be able to follow the standard procedures
*Establishing effective lines of communications
*Monitoring capacity, integrity and performance of designated business application(s) systems
*Understanding IT security and auditing requirements, and be able to provide resolution to address system security issues.
