Operations Director / General Manager - Plymouth - £60,000 to £70,000 + Bonus + Car

The Role

The Operations Director / General Manager will lead the team for a base near Plymouth with a focus on profitable growth, including maximising sales and optimising costs - and contributing to the broader Group Vision and Direction. With responsibility for a revenue stream of £50m+, core elements of the brief include:

• Delivering all elements of the business in line with plan, and leading a senior team including Operations, Sales, Finance & HR
• Leading and managing all elements of a warehousing-led logistics and distribution operation, as well as both field sales and call / contact centre teams
• Running the business with a 'general management overview e.g. P&L focussed commercial approach with accountability for all core functions

The Person

As Operations Director / General Manager, you will have an Operations or Sales Operations function background, have successfully managed and led sizeable teams ( 50 + ), and be a respected, motivational and robust manager of people and teams. Core operational and/or Sales experience could be from a number of backgrounds including food, pharmaceuticals, fmcg, manufacturing, logistics or warehousing / distribution - leadership and commercial skills are paramount.

You will combine a sharp eye for optimisation of costs (e.g. Best Practice / Lean Techniques) as well as Sales Management through Field Sales or Call Centre teams. Well-versed in the management of all core Operational and Sales KPI's, you will be passionate about Customer Service and the delivery of safe and excellent service at all points in the delivery cycle.
