Festival & Events Support Executive , including driving responsibilities – £250 per day (day rate contract to end of December, flexible availability required including weekends) – location dependent on event, predominantly south England

If so, and you love getting up close and personal with potential customers at sampling events, festivals and other outdoor events, we may have just the opportunity for you. We’re building a new addition to our team, in the form of a vintage airstream which we’ll be taking to lots of outdoor events around the south of England from April onwards. The purpose is to introduce Pukka teas (and remedies) to a new population of consumers and not only bring them a taste of our fabulous infusions, but also a sense of who we are, our brand and our mission to benefit the planet, one person at a time!

This new role is going to be the key operational support person at each of those events, as well as having stocked it, driven it there and set it up. During the event, you’ll be expected to interact with people visiting us, offering refreshing teas, talking about Pukka and our mission and encouraging them to become customers and ensuring the rest of the team have all they need to make the whole event run smoothly. That also means being our technical troubleshooter and incident/crisis averter. At the end, you’ll be responsible for ensuring pack down and returning the airstream to storage.

This is not an everyday job, in the sense that it’s not Monday – Friday and not even every week, so you’ll need to be able to commit to about 40 days on specific dates (including weekends) between April and the end of December (the approximate dates and locations are at the end of this ad).

We’re really after someone who’s had experience of working at events, including festivals and specifically who can take responsibility for the smooth running of a ‘stand’ on a day to day basis. That means you’ll need to be unflappable, anytime of day or night, and able to deal with event based crises as they may occur and be practical enough to sort them out. It may be as simple as the hot water urn needs topping up or a fuse blowing, through to the awning collapsing overnight and wrecking the set up or three of the team going down with the lurgy and are unable to attend.

As if that’s not enough, we also need you to:

- Have a clean category B+E driver’s licence along with plenty of towing or large/long wheel base driving experience – it’s especially important that you can maneuver a trailer/caravan in tight spaces; 

- Be physically able to deal with the rigours of intense events and plenty of lifting, erecting and moving stock;

- Be incredibly practical as you’ll be responsible for simple vehicle maintenance, small breakdowns/things not working, as well as sorting out unforeseen incidents during the event, such as tent pegs breaking, an important piece of equipment being forgotten, etc – our very own Jack (or Jill) of all trades who’s always smiling!

- Be very comfortable taking the initiative, so you’re one step ahead and not just reacting to problems or issues as they arise.

And we’d love it if you:

- Have a tacho licence; and

- Already know about Pukka and our incredible range of teas

This is not a regular office based role – your ‘base’ will be the airstream itself, so we predominantly need you to go to events in southern England, London, and mid Wales and be able to get to our remote Bristol storage (use Bristol airport as a reference point) within an hour or so and you’ll need your own transport to get you there as it’s a bit off the beaten track.
