Fantastic opportunity for an experienced Technical Sales Engineer to join our client who is a market leader in their field!

Our clients a market leader in gate automation and access controls throughout the UK and Ireland. Due to exceptional growth predications, our clients are now looking to recruit Technical Sales engineers Nationwide.  Combining technical knowledge with sales skills to provide advice and support on a range of products.  Candidates with strong sales and Technical backgrounds sought.

Role:  The successful candidate will be responsible for generating new business and maintaining current client accounts.   Working from home, however regular travel will be required around the UK.  This is a great opportunity to join a growing team.  

Key responsibilities:

  • Searching for new clients who might benefit from company products or services and maximising client potential in designated regions;
  • Developing long-term relationships with clients through managing and interpreting their requirements;
  • Persuading clients that a product or service best satisfies their needs in terms of quality, price and delivery;
  • Negotiating tender and contract terms and conditions to meet both client and company needs;
  • Make telephone calls, in-person visits and presentations to existing and prospective customers;
  • Site visits for advice and problem solving;
  • Calculating client quotations and administering client accounts;
  • Providing pre-sales technical assistance and product education, and after-sales support services;
  • Analysing costs and sales;
  • Identifies advantages and compares organistion’s products/service;
  • Preparing activity and results reports for head office;
  • Meeting regular sales targets and coordinating sales projects;
  • Making technical presentations and demonstrating how a product meets client needs;
  • Keep abreast of product applications, technical services, market conditions, competitive activities, advertising and promotional trends;
  • Participate in trade shows and conventions;
  • Liaising with all other departments and in particular members of the sales team and other technical experts;
  • The job role may include other reasonable duties/tasks from time to time.

  • The ability to operate with individuality and flair in a structured, professional environment that makes full use of IT-reliant reporting and product information systems.
  • High level drive and motivation to excel in technical sales environment with Global leader.
  • Ability to develop strong customer relationships along with excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong problem solving skills in order to help customers solve day to day problems / challenges within industry.
  • Ability to sell technical solution on its features and benefits supported by technical proposals to secure confidence in the solution offered is a key skill.
  • Commercial awareness
  • Willing to travel regularly
  • Full clean UK driving license.
  • Experience in a similar role and/or industry preferred but not essential

Experience in preferred areas of - Access / Entry Automation / Electronics / Intercoms – however all mechanical and electrical backgrounds considered.

Location: Can be based anywhere across the UK

Salary: Negotiable Depending on Experience, plus fully expensed vehicle
