A Junior Web Developer is required to join a well established retailer of all kinds of water sports equipment, their sales are mainly online though they do have a significant retail shop. They have been around since 1989 and are still expanding, and are now looking for a new team member. The successful applicant will be someone who will be enthusiastic about helping them to improve the retail experience for their online customers.

This is a new role working with their existing developer supporting their website and working on new projects. The day to day role will involve all aspects of ensuring they offer a current and constantly improving website, updating content, adding new products and features. You will also be involved with order management and CRM.

You will need to be current in your web skills, have an entrepreneurial outlook and preferably some experience of working in a busy, demanding B2C e-commerce environment.

The successful candidate will have a fundamental understanding of web technologies with a working knowledge of Photoshop, HTML, CSS, and SEO. PHP would be useful but is not a fundamental requirement. It is also preferential that the candidate has experience in digital photography, inDesign, Dreamweaver and AfterEffects.

Essential qualities, as well as the above:

- You must have excellent communication skills and literacy.
- You must be able to work accurately and on your own initiative on projects and development work.
- You must be adaptable enough to be able to cope with change and deal with day to day updates and issues.

Desirable qualities:

Their business is water sports, so previous experience of working or involvement in a water sports environment and an active interest in Scuba Diving, sailing, snorkelling, board sports or other water sports would help you fit in well with the team and role.

Hours: 39pw Monday to Friday.
Holidays: 22 Days + Bank Holidays.

Start date: Immediately, subject to notice obligations.
