As part of its national work programme, NHS Wales is introducing ever more sophisticated IT systems to improve patient care

We are looking for junior and more experienced NET developers to help us build these systems. We want smart people who can innovate and who are dedicated to building quality software! We are a conventional company but are increasingly looking for developers who can challenge these conventions and improve our practices.

You'll join a young development team working with Microsoft tech, particularly ASP.NET MVC and SQL Server. We use Agile SCRUM but we are also looking to roll out improvements to the way we test and deliver software using TDD, BDD and continuous integration.

What experience do you need?

  • Professional experience using .NET [preferably C#] & SQL Server
  • Good understanding of OOP and unit testing

What’s advantageous?

  • Ideally you will also have some experience using ASP.NET MVC
  • Above all, however, you are smart and get things done!

Why join us?

  • You want the opportunity to work on a continuous stream of new developments using new tech.
  • You want to improve your skills by attending industry seminars, our own in-house workshops and workshops run by suppliers such as Microsoft and Redgate
  • You're interested in job security tied to a good salary and pension bundle.
  • But above all you want to build good software systems that deliver better care to those who need it!

What you’ll be doing

You'll focus on building new application functionality. This could be the UI - using the MVC framework and JavaScript and CSS - or hooking up to different APIs, messaging frameworks and other clinical systems

This is an excellent opportunity for those who are looking to further their career in information systems development.

We have great benefits

In return we offer a varied role working as part of a large software development pool. All .NET developers are given access to a MSDN benefits subscription and have the opportunity to take part in internal technical workshops held by in-house staff and external suppliers

We also offer staff:-

  • automatic membership of the NHS pension scheme
  • 27 days paid leave plus bank holidays
  • Childcare vouchers and flexible working hours.
