Could you enthusiastically promote and facilitate a wide range of Rehabilitation & Training activities for our blind veterans and visitors? We are currently looking for a Rehabilitation and Training Support Worker to join our team in Brighton.
In this role you’d also provide practical support and information for our members within our Centre at Ovingdean, Brighton. Our members are former members of the armed forces who either live in the centre or are visiting for holidays, events or specific training to overcome the challenges of severe sight loss and, in some cases, additional disabilities.
The Rehabilitation and Training Support Worker will liaise with and support our Rehabilitation, IT, Activities, Art & Craft and Sports & Recreation departments. You’ll also work collaboratively with our centres in Llandudno and Sheffield and with our Services in the community.
You would strive to ensure all our blind veterans feel a sense of wellbeing, purpose and family during their time at the Centre.
The successful Rehabilitation and Training Support Worker applicant will have experience in organising and facilitating activities and an understanding of the importance and impact a sense of wellbeing can have. Experience of working with the elderly, people with sight loss or other disabilities would be an advantage.
The successful applicant will be able to work on their own initiative, multi task and have excellent time management, communication and interpersonal skills. They will also be a confident user of technology and have a sound working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.
