Lavoro Care are currently recruiting Residential Support Worker’s (RCW’s) to work with one of our clients, who are a well-known children’s residential care provider, on a permanent basis.

RCW’s will work as part of a team providing a comprehensive residential service to children and young people.

Main Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Providing assessment and care to a high standard and meeting physical, behavioural and emotional needs
  • To ensure those in your care are treated fairly, with respect and dignity and as an individual
  • To be able to physically intervene /restrain as required following appropriate training.
  • To ensure the smooth day to day running of the home
  • To contribute to the development and effective delivery of child care in line with the processes, procedures and philosophy of the company
  • To report any safeguarding issues following relevant procedures and guidelines
  • To attend and contribute to supervisions and team meetings as required
  • To attend all training, work flexibly between homes and undertake all tasks as directed by the Duty Manager or Deputy

Ideal candidates will meet the following essential criteria:

  • Be a minimum of 21 years old (National Minimum Standards)
  • Qualified or prepared to work towards QCF/NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People’s Workforce
  • A commitment to attending on-going training and personal development
  • Ability to empathise with the needs of the young people
  • Good written and verbal communication skills and report writing experience
  • Good IT Skills word, excel, outlook etc
  • Be self-motivated and able to work in stressful situations
  • Have a positive disposition  and be able to lead by example
  • Have an excellent knowledge and understanding of National Minimum Standards, childcare practices and behaviour management strategies
  • Have a full (UK) manual driving licence as all RCW’s are required to drive young people to and from school, activities, family meetings etc.

This role is subject to satisfactory pre-employment checks which includes DBS clearance, references, ID and right to work checks.  The £44.00 cost of the DBS disclosure will be met by the applicant, but we also accept portable enhanced DBS certificates.
