Our client is looking for a Lead Agile Developer (ideally from an open source background using PHP or Java) who wants to move into the role of a Junior Solutions Architect. This an excellent opportunity and would suit a candidate with great technical leaderships skills who is looking for their first role to become a fully-fledged' Architect.

The Junior Solutions Architect will, with help from more senior members of the team, produce Solution Definitions and work with the other architecture teams to produce detailed System Architecture documents worthy of presentation to the Architecture Design Board.

This is a hands on' role working closely with development teams, technical Specialists and Solutions Architects to help define the standards, core patterns and working practices that improve quality and efficiency within the software applications environment.

To apply, you must have a strong background as a Senior or Lead Software Engineer, ideally within an Agile environment. You will have the ability to interpret business requirements and produce technical specification documents. You will also be able to design solutions so they are simple, scalable and easy to change.

You will initially be working on a project focussed around data centre consolidation, designing a brand new, enterprise class solution which is to be the first of its kind in the world.

Junior Solutions Architect - Key Skills/Experience

Ideally you'll have knowledge of systems integration standards (ESB, SOA, XML) and some good experience of API design. Experience of opensource technologies (a mix of any of: Java/J2EE, Oracle, LAMP, Python, Riak, MongoDB) is a distinct advantage.
