Data Governance Manager/Data Management Regional Lead

A leading global property management and investment company based in London (location in London is flexible) seek an experienced/qualified Data Governance Manager/Data Management Regional Lead, to lead Data Governance for the EMEA region. This position will help to develop and implement data governance policies, processes and templates in the Corporate Solutions EMEA region; and on an ongoing basis ensure compliance to the companies data quality standards.

Responsibilities for the Data Governance Manager/Data Management Regional Lead:

• Develops and maintains Data Governance policies, processes and standards templates.

• Develop Data Governance templates, prepares reports and metrics, executes audits and collaborates with the business to resolve data issues.

• Defines and maintains Data Governance compliance and operational metrics.

• Develops and executes audits to ensure compliance with Data Governance practices.

• Collect data change requests and coordinate information gathering to ensure that the data owners have all required information to approve changes.

• Facilitate meetings with data users, data stewards, data owners and other stakeholders to ensure data governance rules and standards are applied to data related changes/projects.

• Collaborates with data owners and data stewards to resolve data quality and data governance compliance issues.

• Participate in the design of short term and long term data solutions that meet or exceed business expectations to ensure that all solutions are in compliance with Global Data Governance.

• Prepare and maintain status reports and data objects' consolidated usage metrics.

• Identify areas for improvement and makes training recommendations.

• Assist the head of Global Data Governance with administrative and Data Governance activities, particularly be the go-to person for the respective region.

• Open and frequent communication with regional teams and senior management.

• Ensure data quality issue triage processes are implemented.

• Assist in defining the business glossary.

Experience for the Data Governance Manager/Data Management Regional Lead:

• 5+ years of data management related experience such as Data Analysis, Data Governance, Enterprise Information Management, Data Modeling, and Data Quality Management. Analytics experience desired, ie Data Visualization, Data Analytics, Data Mining, Business Intelligence, etc.

• Bachelor's degree in Information Management, MIS, Library Science, or Computer Science; advanced degree preferred.

• 2+ years data related experience, ie Data Analytics, Data Mining and/or Data Governance experience preferred.

• Intermediate skills in MS Excel, Visio, Word and PowerPoint required.

• Familiarity with MS Access preferred.

• Experience with BI tools such as IBM Cognos, MS PowerPivot/PowerView, etc., is highly preferred.

Skills for the Data Governance Manager/Data Management Regional Lead:

• Advanced understanding of data quality management.

• Breadth and depth of knowledge of commercial real estate data and business processes, including operational record keeping, client and account facing systems, and analytical/reporting tools. A go-to person.

• Knowledge of data governance and how it impacts business processes.

• Understanding of data quality concepts.

• Superior analytical and creative problem solving skills. Demonstrated successes in data analysis, drawing conclusions and improvement.
