PHP Software Developer, Web Applications, MySQL, Javascript

My client are part of a global software group and leading providers of enterprise full service software solutions to a global client base.

Due to continued success and growth, we are looking for a PHP Web Application Developer for an exciting role within their busy team. This role will focus on hands-on development, front and Back End, support, test and maintenance of their web-based product suite.
You will be required to work across the full life cycle using agile methodologies.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The role itself is varied and will entail:

-Understanding the software requirements for each project
-Hands-on development following the agile approach
-Write unit tests (using PHP Unit)
-Weekly reporting of development activities to the Technical Lead
-Backend architecture - leveraging an application framework to rapidly bring features to market
-Database management and design
-Development of release scripts to ensure the rapid automated installation of new features

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Primary:

-2+ years developing in PHP5
-Knowledge of OOP
-Using databases, preferably MySQL (5+)
-Experience of web application development
-Linux
-Knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, XML, JSON and CSS

Desirable:

-Software engineering-related degree
-Experience of any of the following; PHP Unit, AJAX, PEAR, jQuery and Apache
-Ability to use an application framework such as CakePHP or Symfony
-Previous use of bug tracking software, such as Bugzilla or Trac
-Knowledge of developing mobile friendly web applications
-Agile/Scrum development process exposure
