Experience essential in requirements gathering and design of Windows desktop build based on the MDT toolset, WIM image creation, adoption and improvements to existing build process and migration to later versions of MDT. Integration of core applications, and third party solutions for Antivirus and disk encryption a key requirement of the role.

Key Responsibilities:

Applicant should be cognisant of the need to address issues such as bios revision level and separation of the driver layer to provide a hardware agnostic build solution.

A full understanding of the licensing and activation mechanism of Windows is essential, as is the inclusion and customisation of client software such as SCCM, WSUS and App-V Client components.

Good logical diagnostic skills; ability to identify solution paths and escalation routes for technical issues associated with build issues for Windows 7 and 8.1.

The ability to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team is crucial, as is a general can-do attitude and attention to detail.

Skills & Experience, Essential:

  • Expertise in all aspects of delivery of Windows desktop for mass delivery in a locked-down, multi-user environment.
  • 5+ years experience with Windows Desktop administration including configuration and installation of applications and publishing desktop builds using MDT
  • Strong SMS/SCCM experience including build deployment, bare metal rebuilds, data migration and applications and patch deployment.
  • Ability to author and publish GPO's affecting User, Machine and Application containers with Active Directory
  • Experience of using VBS and powershell scripts to enhance processes by automation
  • Experience of Client Server applications in enterprise environments
  • Strong Documentation Skills
  • Experience of Large/Enterprise level infrastructures
  • Ability to customise Desktop builds for Virtual Infrastructure

Qualifications:
