3D CAD Design Engineer - East Sussex

As part of my clients planned expansion program they require two talented and highly motivated 3D CAD design engineers, with a successful background in the design of vacuum systems, including chambers, tooling and pumping systems.

The design role covers: chambers, sealing systems, thermal sources, sheet metal and substrate fixturing. You will also be working on general mechanical design of supporting hardware such as frames, enclosures and safety systems.

The company uses Inventor design suit as its 3D Design software and Comsol for thermal/physics/flow design modelling. Candidates should be expert users of Inventor design suit, or be able to transition to it within a short period of time.

As a Design Engineer in this area, you will take the journey through the full design process, from requirements capture through to concept, development and final design stages.

 You will be required to communicate with process development scientists and management to identify the requirements, and develop suitable design solutions.
 You will also be responsible for overseeing the design through manufacturing, testing and into service.
 To support your design solution you will be required to produce design schemes, stress, pressure and thermal calculations and work in partnership with my clients Comsol modelling team. You will also be required to produce detailed 2D/3D manufacturing drawings, models and assemblies.
