Home based (Southern Counties)
Salary based upon £35 - £40K - negotiable depending on experience

The company a not for profit organisation launched in 2009, aims to assist consumers and their families in finding trusted accredited financial advisers who understand financial needs in later life. Enterprises was formed in 2014 to operate alongside the company, and provide a range of services to both the company and the wider FS sector.

As its reach continues to accelerate the company is looking to extend its voice as a trusted consumer brand, and is supporting the growing adviser numbers with increasingly specialist and bespoke training.

In order to help facilitate this growth they are now seeking to appoint an Operations Manager.

The position will be pivotal in delivering the changes planned over the next 18 months or so. The role will become involved in every aspect of the organisation’s development.

Key Responsibilities of the Operations Manager:

• To manage a small team delivering the accreditation and standards process to existing and new members
• To develop and/or secure basic administration systems to enable efficient processing of key services
• To develop management capability, web based innovation and general infrastructure
• To ensure that basic financial management and accounting systems are developed/secured
• To lead on web management & development
• To manage and ensure effective delivery of the marketing aspects of event management

The role will have contact and influence with current members, potential members, partner organisations, and key suppliers.

The immediate core role objectives of the Operations Manager would be to work with the directors in order to:

• Ensure a clearly sustainable administrative platform for future growth
• Introduce the new standards regimes for Retirement, Care, Equity Release and Housing.
• Work towards achieving the recruitment levels outlined in the 5 year business plan.
• To assure on systems to secure and report upon all aspects of revenue and expense, and of course P & L (noting that a separate Financial Officer role will be appointed).
• To review current web based services and establish the framework for future development.

This position would suite an individual who can work flexibly, and from home, on a full or four day-a-week basis. Some travel will be required, and will be predominantly Southern based (Kent would be good but not essential). Might appeal to individuals wishing to move away from a “career based” environment.

It is essential that applicants have an excellent record of managing and delivering service and/or administrative operations, including understanding of delivering basic web based services. You will have the ability to work with limited day to day direction, and within a loose working structure. Candidates must have excellent influencing skills - both internally and externally, and have evidence of managing and developing core administrative processes in previous roles.

Some knowledge of the Financial Services sector and/or care sector would be advantageous, although not essential as this is secondary to basic administrative process experience.

Also beneficial would be experience of overseeing web site development and management activities, implementing simple financial management packages, managing a variety of supplier contracts, and managing small teams of people.
