Desktop Support Team Leader, Glasgow, c£25-£30k DOE + benefits
Excellent opportunity for an experienced Desktop Support Team Leader to join ths leading European IT services organisation, based in their Glasgow offices. You will provide a supervisory role to a team of five on a shift rota and will have shift rota ownership, interaction with other technical teams, resolve local team issues, end to end overall ownership of incidents related to the region. This includes shifts covering evenings and weekends. You will provide support escalation from the Service Desk for 2nd Level Desktop and Onsite support and end-user support for Business Applications such as Microsoft products, GoogleApps and Blackberry Enterprise Server as well as some support of bespoke publishing applications. Operating systems knowledge will include Windows 7/8 and Mac OS. You will also be providing backup administration activities, support for multiple mobile solutions including iOS, Android and Blackberry smart phones. Though Glasgow based there may be the need to travel within the region or nationally upon occasion.
Essential skills:
Windows desktop operating system support experience
Messaging support experience (based on Microsoft Exchange\GoogleApps)
Office 2003/2007/2010/2013 Support
Desktop\Laptop hardware Builds, Support & Maintenance
Desirable skills:
Team leader experience
Microsoft Windows Server 2003/2008 Administration
Mac OS support experience
Active Directory Administration
Windows XP & 7/8 Administration and Support
Basic knowledge of networking concepts, principles and troubleshooting
Backup Administration activities
Desktop/Server Image Software (Altiris/Ghost/SCCM etc)
SharePoint Administration
Phone Support (Cisco/Mitel/Avaya etc)
