Based in Bristol, this role involves technology development for SMPS , using state of the art components for use in next generation products. Responsibilities will include Switch Mode Power Supply Design, including AC/DC Power supplies, DC/DC Topologies and Magnetics Design. This role will offer excellent career progression within and technology development within state of the Electronics Technology.
The successful candidate will have a good relevant degree and be able to demonstrate a knowledge of some of the below:
* AC:DC Power Supplies
PWM
quasi-resonant and resonant DC:DC topologies
PFC
magnetics design
control theory (as applied to SMPS)
General analogue electronics.
C plus assembler code
Designing for volume
Off-line experience
Other skills that would be ideal to the role are someone that possesses some microcontroller/DSP and the ability to communicate clearly in English. It is envisaged that the successful candidate would have experience of working within a team environment, with the necessary skills to manage the day to day activities of junior engineers and technicians.
