Job Summary

Working as part of a larger project team you will be expected to effectively and efficiently design and develop software applications to the high quality that is expected from all projects.

What you will be doing:
You will be involved in software development on client projects either on an individual basis or within software development teams.

Mandatory Skills & Experience

Solid C# .NET 3.0 (ideally 4.0 and/or understanding of key differences) experience of the following:
* NET Server Side Service development (WCF Services, Web Services, Windows Services)
* NET ASP.NET GUI development (including ASP.NET MVC/MVC2;
* NET Windows Workflow Foundation (WWF);
* ADO.NET Entity Framework or any other DAO mapping framework (such as nHibernate).
* Knowledge and experience of .NET architectures;
* Experience of Visual Studio 2008 and 2010;
* Experience of at least one relational database preferably Oracle, SQLServer or Sybase and operating system either UNIX or NT.
* Full development life cycle experience.
* A good understanding of UML and its use for communicating system designs;
* Capable of working to strict deadlines.
* Demonstrable knowledge of a software development methodology and structured approaches to development.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
* Self motivated and motivates others keeping morale and performance high.
* Ability to prioritise workload and work well under pressure to meet deadlines and manage business expectations.
* Excellent relationship building skills with stakeholders, vendors and suppliers.
* Excellent technical presentation skills.
* Strong progress and issue reporting skills.
* Understanding of existing and emerging technologies.

Other Desirable Skills & Experience

* Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) accreditation
* Experience and/or understanding of Agile (Scrum) or other iterative/Agile methodologies (XP, DSDM etc);
* High level understanding of data warehousing principles and considerations including star schemas, database design (logical and physical) and tuning;
* High level understanding of Microsoft DB & BI stack including Integration Services (SSIS), Reporting Services (SSRS), Report Builder 3.0 and Analysis Services (SSAS);
* A good understanding of XML and it use in Web Services;

Clearance
Holding DV clearance would be highly desirable for this role
