Process Leader - Weekend Night Shift (2 Year Contract)

£38,000 - £40,000 (incl. Shift Premium) Plus Pension, Generous Holiday, BMW Car Scheme (after 6 months) 

2015 is a particularly exciting time to be working at BMW Hams Hall. With the introduction of new manufacturing facilities, they now need to recruit for a new weekend shift. 

BMW Plant Hams Hall is an integral part of BMW Group's global engine production network, manufacturing fuel efficient, low emission engines for BMW and MINI vehicles sold around the world. They are currently investing in their state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities at Hams Hall, preparing for the production of the next generation of BMW engines. 

This is a superb opportunity for a high calibre manufacturing professional to play a key role within BMW’s production facility, working a dedicated weekend night shift which includes Friday, Saturday and Sunday 6pm – 6am. You will have the chance to push the limits of modern manufacturing and work with state-of-the-art technology in a fast-paced environment. 

As a Process Leader, you will be responsible for effectively leading and co-ordinating a Production Team to ensure that production and quality targets are delivered. 

Coaching and developing your team, you will ensure that all skills are aligned to maximise production levels. Additionally, you will act as the process expert within the team to maintain production and product conformity. 

Your other duties will include: 

- Supporting process improvement activities such as product rectification 
- Maintaining quality standards by addressing any quality related issues 
- Ensuring that all non-conforming materials are isolated 
- Managing the daily rota, including arranging cover for holidays and absences 

To be considered for this role you must have: 

- A background in manufacturing with at least five years’ experience of providing product, process, maintenance or technical support 
- Experience of electrical or mechanical engineering 
- Team leadership experience 
- An NVQ Level 3 in mechanical and/or electrical engineering, or equivalent qualification OR a solid career profile in a machining environment. 

The ideal Process Leader will have an ONC or HNC in mechanical and/or electrical engineering, and will have knowledge of automotive engineering manufacturing in either assembly or machining.
