Team Leader

Join Action for Blind People as a Team Leader and be part of a dynamic team managing and developing needs-led services for visually impaired people. This key role will see you work across a range of services – ensuring excellence, quality and person centered support.
You will be part of a dynamic management team; managing and developing needs-led services for visually impaired people in your area. Services include Living with Sight Loss, advice and guidance, employment support, assistive technology, children and family services, financial inclusion and housing support. You will manage a multi-disciplinary team, collect and share information and work with the Area Operations Manager to ensure that service users, staff and key stakeholders are all involved in the strategic development of services.
As Team leader you will:
- Provide direct line management support to team members
- Participate in the recruitment and training of staff
- Ensure effective delivery and monitoring of all projects
- Promote the service to existing and potential partners
- Collect and collate statistics and report on these as required
- Recruit and manage volunteers
As Team Leader you will need:
- Experience in a similar role at least at supervisory level
- Experience of delivering and monitoring contracts
- Ability to manage and motivate staff
- Some knowledge of special needs, disabilities and/or blind and partially sighted individuals
- Budget control experience
- Excellent communication and influencing skills
