Science Teacher General

Uteach presents a unique opportunity for a talented and committed Teacher of Science to join an Academy school located in the county of Kent in South East England. This post commences in September 2015 and whilst temporary, it has the possibility of becoming permanent.

Ofsted awarded the school a Grade 2 'Good' in its most recent inspection with the report stating that leadership is strong across the academy. Leaders and managers have remained focused on the main areas for improving achievement further and students are making good progress with standards rising. Teaching is good as teachers have strong subject knowledge and motivate students to learn. There is a positive atmosphere that promotes learning throughout the academy and students show high levels of respect and courtesy toward each other.

This is an average sized school with 1000 pupils of mixed gender aged 11-18 on roll with 180 of these pupils enrolled in the Sixth form. The school provides a modern, hi-tech learning environment with many facilities on site including a theatre, a gym and sports fields. A wide range of extra curricular activities are on offer to all students such as drama and sports clubs.

There are excellent local and international transport links with the nearest train station within 1 mile and London Gatwick Airport is a 40 minute journey by car.
