Job Description:

We have an amazing opportunity for a Web Optimisation Analyst to join our growing team of analytics and optimisation specialists. This role will focus on our local marketplace and pet classified websites, a portfolio of websites which include market leaders such as Friday-Ad and Horsemart. We are looking for talented people who are commercially minded and are also really passionate about making a difference to the business.

This role would be perfect for someone with around 2 years experience in a previous web/data analysis role, and is keen to develop their career with one of the largest independently owned web businesses in the UK.

This role is located at our head offices in Sayers Common, just outside Brighton.

Reporting to the Head of Insight and Traffic, the Web Optimisation Analyst will be expected to:
  • Derive actionable insight from data captured on our online place an ad services, and use this to recommend pricing strategies that ensure growth in revenue and adverts placed across the websites
  • Manage the A/B testing programme for the websites, and demonstrate growth in conversion KPIs to key stakeholders from this activity
  • Monitor website traffic & conversion KPIs closely, and make key stakeholders aware of any abnormal trends.
  • Provide competitive intelligence to the business, in the form of website traffic analysis, and performance against our competitors
  • Provide data intelligence to the marketing team to support ongoing marketing campaigns

The Web Optimisation Analyst will work closely with a number of other marketing functions across the Friday Media Group. Therefore, the successful candidate will require excellent communication skills, and be able to explain findings from their analyses clearly and concisely.


Skills Range:

What we're looking for:

  • Educated to degree level in, ideally, a numerate or marketing discipline

  • Someone who is commercially minded, and is focussed on continually improving KPIs

  • Comfortable working with large volumes of data

  • Well versed in MS Excel, comfortable using Vlookup, Hlookup and pivot tables

  • Previous experience with web analytics tools such as Google Analytics

  • Google Analytics IQ qualification (desired but not essential)

  • Previous experience with A/B testing tools such as Optimizely

  • A logical and analytical thinker who is great at converting data into actionable insight

  • High attention to detail and good oral and written presentation skills are important
