The Post

We wish to appoint an experienced researcher/econometrician based in the School of Health Sciences (SHS), University of Stirling to work on a Chief Scientist Office (CSO) funded study to investigate the impact of tobacco control mass media campaigns on quitting behaviour, smoking prevalence and smoking-related health outcomes. The researcher will work closely with, Professor Sally Haw (SNMH) and Dr Danny Mackay (Institute of Health and Wellbeing, University of Glasgow). Other collaborators include: Professor David Bell (School of Management); Dr Tessa Langley (Division of Epidemiology and Public Health, University of Nottingham); and Professor Jill Pell (Institute of Health and Wellbeing, University of Glasgow).

The study began in December 2013 and the current appointment will be on a fixed term, full-time basis for a period of 15 months. The post is based on the Stirling campus and will involve some limited travel - mainly to Edinburgh and Glasgow. The position would suit an outstanding early career academic, with the expectation being that they would develop a strong track record of high level publications on the topic of the grant to be published during the two year period.
