CONTRACT MANAGER (CONSTRUCTION)

Required by HWD Shopfitters/Alcoplan Ltd, Newport, South Wales.

To organise and control the flow of projects including budgets and contract sums as well as timescales for workshop fabrication and on-site installation to meet the client’s requirements.

To assemble and collate information regarding project costing in both the preparation of interim valuations and invoicing and also providing Final Accounts on project completion.

To plan work schedules for construction projects based on prior discussions

with architects, main contractors and clients, including attending design meetings and site progress meetings.

To order materials and sub-contract services.

To monitor work to identify defects in work and propose corrections, including overcoming site problems.

To co-ordinate delivery times to ease traffic congestion to and from site and to assist “just in time” manufacturing.

To record and monitor our workshops and site progress and produce reports.

To produce Computer Aided Design drawings, coupled with detailed knowledge of the construction industry and UK building techniques.

A Post-Graduate CAD qualification is an advantage.

To produce wind-loading calculations and thermic modelling.

A knowledge of UK architectural aluminium systems also an advantage along with the ability to use computer-based estimating programmes.

To be able to prepare and submit Local Authority planning applications.

Annual salary  £27,000.00                  Closing date 25 February 2015
