Technical Specialist, Active Directory, Wintel, DNS, GPOs, WINS, Powershell, VBScript, required for a huge, global Logistics and Supply Chain conglomerate based in Maidenhead, Berkshire.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of Active Directory specialist experience in enterprise environments
• Windows 2003 to Windows 2012
• DNS, WINS, GPO's and Scripting
• Knowledge of SharePoint and Exchange
• Powershell or VBScript skills
• FIM/Identity Access Management

Desirable Skills

• ADFS and AADSYNC
• Splunk and SCOM

About the Role

The Technical Specialist will lead the technical authority within a Directory Services team. This person will have an expert knowledge of Wintel systems and Active Directory within large enterprise environments (10,000+ user base). Experience with the associated technologies DNS, WINS, GPOs and Scripting (PowerShell, VBScript). Knowledge/experience of ADFS, AADSync, Splunk and SCOM is also preferred. This person will be responsible for service and operational improvements as well as the technical escalation for the Vendor and Service Owners, implementing best practices around AD, promoting the AD architecture and strategies within the wider IT community and acting as the highest authority within Active Directory for the wider business. This role will also involve the creation of technical documentation (user guides, training manuals etc.) for use with the entire organisation.
