A leading global investment bank requires an experienced Linux/Unix administrator with experience in open source Big Data technologies to join their project team, to help deliver, maintain and support their growing platform. The platform serves multiple areas of the investment bank, including some very exciting and cutting-edge projects.
The role requires:
- Strong experience in Linux/Unix administration, ideally RHEL 6.4+ in a mixed Windows/Linux environment
- Experience managing Hadoop clusters, ideally CDH 5+ (eg HDFS, YARN, Spark, HBase, Cloudera Manager)
- Good understanding of Active Directory & Kerberos integration
- Experience supporting multi-tenant/multi-project environments
- Experience with open source monitoring, configuration and deployment tools (eg Nagios, Graphite/Grafana, SaltStack)
- Strong understanding of hardware, network & security issues inherent to distributed/clustered systems
- Strong Scripting skills (eg bash, Python) and ideally some experience with SQL
- Excellent communication and inter-personal skills
- Excellent problem solving and multi-tasking ability
- A strong sense of ownership and initiative
- Finance and banking knowledge is not required but would be beneficial.
