Linux SME/Tools Engineer - banking/low latency - to c. 85k base + bonus + Benefits - London

Would you like to be involved in a brand new initiative to build an eFX trading platform that has significant backing and high visibility for one of the more responsible and well run international banks? A programme is commencing to build a truly innovative global eFX trading platform. As an established and trusted PSL IT recruitment partner to this good bank we have been asked to identify a hands-on Linux SME who considers themselves to be a true expert.
This is a hands-on role, no team management and we see it as an outstanding opportunity for a true Linux technologist to be involved in a high profile programme.

This role would suit Linux Engineers who have worked in HPC/Low Latency trading arenas, who understand networking, OS tunable stacks along with orchestration and automation toolset. The delivery engineer role will allow the individual to package up those expert skills and move them into a highly automated CI/CD environment, to provide the technology and tooling for the new EFX DevOps team. You will be responsible for the design and implementation of the infrastructure and tools to support the delivery of robust technology solutions.

Work Experience (Essential) Experience working in a similar environment using a similar skill set.
Education (Essential) Degree educated in Computer Science
Functional/Technical Competencies (Essential). Experience with tooling and practices to support automated build, automated regression test of software, with a focus on software delivery quality improvement and/or development team productivity improvements.. Experience managing implementations of continuous delivery practices, using DevOps vision and different aspects of process improvements, ie culture and people, Methods and Techniques, Processes and organisation etc.. Experience with Architectural design and delivery of IT systems, using Cloud technologies, IaaS, PaaS, SaaS etc.. Excellent Linux/Unix engineering and tuning skills. Excellent Monitoring engineering skills (Geneos, JMX Monitoring, Corvil). Understanding of Linux Kernel latency pressure points and mitigation techniques. Excellent Low latency performance tuning. Understanding of Linux networking
Functional/Technical Competencies (Preferred). Good Scripting skills: bash, Perl, Python. Understanding of Kernel bypass technologies. C/C++ programming experience. Benchmarking skills/experience
