Technical Architect - Contract - Guildford/London - Great Rates!

As a Technical Architect, you'll be tasked with producing the design artefacts to enable the consolidation of a number of our Active Directory domains and Forests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for planning, developing, maintaining and making available records of designs, technical evaluations, pilot/testing projects with new technology
  • Ensure that all design material is delivered as concisely and succinctly as possible
  • Ensure that all solutions are thoroughly thought through, taking into account not just the technology aspect but also the service wrap/end-to-end solution, ensuring that the design comes together as a fully coherent solution carefully targeted at meeting the business need
  • Participation in, and support of, the project management process including:
    • Development of technical designs
    • Support of project teams in design implementation
    • Technical QA of completed projects
    • Lessons learnt
    • Other architectural activities, as defined by project management and architectural processes
  • Responsible for ensuring designs are well communicated and worked through to formal approval
  • Provide technical expertise, leadership and promote continual learning across the department
  • Actively participate in project, portfolio or technology-centric virtual teams, supporting cross team cohesion and clarity of priorities/best-practices, all centred on meeting architectural principles and business/programme objectives
  • Progress/issue reporting and general escalation to the Lead Technical Architect
  • Member of the Change Approval Board, as required to support delivery activities

Mandatory Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience of large scale consolidation of Active Directory domains and forests including user, computer and service migrations
  • Strong experience of infrastructure design work, with the following core technologies:
    • Cisco
    • Microsoft
    • VMware
  • Used to producing highly detailed designs that will withstand thorough scrutiny
  • Flexible approach to working and used to working under pressure, delivery of highly accurate designs with tight timescales
  • Experience within a security sensitive and or protectively marked environment
  • Able to work confidently with senior management
  • Certifications such as
    • MSCE/MCITP
    • CISSP
    • VCP

  • Linux/Unix
  • Juniper SA,MAG & SSG
  • Palo Alto Firewalls
  • Citrix - XenApp & XenDesktop
  • NetApp
  • Tufin
  • Check Point
  • TOGAF
