Service desk Support Assistant

1st/2nd Line Support Technician - 3 months Contract, Market Rates

My key client based in Hull, is urgently looking for a dynamic, highly motivated 1st/2nd Line Support Engineer to join their busy and existing IT/Operations team on a 3 month contract basis.

The Ideal candidate will be assisting the IT Service Manager with the provision of systems support, Implementation services and resolution of application software difficulties.

Essential Skills:

• 2+ years experience in an IT Service role in Help Desk 1st and/or 2nd line support
• Experience of working with Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008/2012 (multiple versions) troubleshooting
• Experience with Help Desk technology
• Understanding of network topology VLAN's etc (experience of working with Cisco Switches)
• Experience with Software Licensing
• A keen attention to detail
• Calm and efficient under pressure
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good verbal and written skills, able to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels
• The ability to respond to enquiries promptly, accurately and efficiently
• Strong interest in IT
• Responsible mindset
• Can-do attitude
• Flexible approach to working hours.
• Strong commitment to customer service excellence

Desirable Skills:

• IT Qualification
• Understanding of SSL certificate creation
• Experience with Virtualisation technology eg Citrix, Hyper-V
