Development Manager (Data Migration) - Transition to New Product!

We are looking for a Development Manager to manage the full data migration from the current software to the new Greenfield product that is being developed for my industry leading software solutions client based in Bedford, Bedfordshire. This offers you the chance to be responsible of leading the development of the data migration to a new cutting edge product, and ensuring the development team delivers quality code in line with the Conversion of data.

This is a great time to be joining as my client is investing significantly in developing brand new software products with the latest software while also fully adopting Agile/Scrum and TDD approaches and methodologies. Previous experience of managing the Data Migration between products and projects is essential, my client will be able to use your experience and lessons learnt to help effectively deliver quality, innovative products.

A strong background with data migration and using ETL (such as SSIS) and other data analysis tools is vital, as is the ability to coordinate with analysts, specialist users and technical support. You will have the opportunity to enhance the methodology and manage the production of required Data Conversion product/tools to the appropriate quality, timescales and cost.

Skills required for the role of Development Manager are:

• Experience with Data Migration, Data Cleansing, Conversion and Data Quality Reporting
• Strong leadership and development team management experience in large scale projects and logical data models
• Experience with ETL tools (such as SSIS) and data integration across different platforms
• Managing in an Agile environment
• Strong people management, entrepreneurial and technical skills

Any experience of working with Scrum, Kanban and/or offshore teams would be ideal but by no means essential.
