Rate of pay: £6.63 per hour (£5.91 per hour if you are under the age of 21), plus tips

We have a fantastic career opportunity for a Commis Chef to join the team at St Petroc's Bistro in Padstow. As Commis Chef you will support the kitchen in order to create and maintain the quality product that reflects the company’s reputation.

The top ten things that you will be doing each week:

• Preparing food to the standards as defined by the Head Chef.

• Maintaining the property and equipment in a clean and well ordered manner.

• Understanding the food being served by taking part in tastings with the head chef.

• Ensuring the security of stock at all times.

• Ensuring a safe environment for both staff and customers adhering to the company’s Health and Safety policy and procedures.

• Supporting with stock takes as required.

• Ensuring that the appropriate stock levels are maintained – communicating any matters to the Head Chef.

• Working in accordance with the Food Safety Act, Health and Safety Regulations and Licensing Laws.

• Continually pushing to improve your knowledge and skills.

• Working effectively within a large team.

Company Profile: 

Rick and Jill Stein opened The Seafood Restaurant in 1975. Since then the business has grown to include another three restaurants in Padstow, St Petroc's Bistro, Cafe and Fish & Chips as well as a pub in St Merryn and restaurants in Falmouthand Porthleven. They also have a cookery school, 40 guest bedrooms, 4 self catering properties, a deli, patisserie, fishmongers and gift shop all in and around the pretty harbour village of Padstow. In Autumn 2014 they also opened their first restaurant outside of Cornwall, in Winchester.
