A Young Offenders Institute in North West Kent is looking for a permanent, full time (37 Hours Per Week) experienced and qualified Design and Technology Teacher.
This site is looking for a dynamic teacher to teach Design and Technology. We are particularly keen to hear from Teachers who have experience of delivering vocational subjects areas such as Woodwork, DIY or Construction Skills - Bricklaying, Painting and Decorating, General Building Skills. The successful Design and Technology Teacher would enjoy working with small classes to embed learning and enable the learners to become proficient in these subjects up to Level 3. The position provides opportunities for students to learn, achieve and develop in these subjects and also develop their self-confidence, self-worth and self esteem. The aim of education in Custody is to prepare young people for a successful transition upon release into the community.
This location is looking to appoint a Design and Technology Teacher who will work to provide dedicated support, guidance and intervention to young people, to enable them to maximise the learning opportunities available to them whilst in custody. The successful candidate will be responsible for the achievements and tracking of learner’s progress in this area.
Interested candidates must have a relevant teaching qualification, such as QTS, Cert Ed, C&G 7307/7407, DTLLS or CTLLS and have experience teaching young people under 18 in a mainstream-learning environment. The ability to internally verify portfolio work would be advantageous.
