My client  who is to become the leading passenger transport provider in Europe, is looking to recruit a talented Skilled Engineer with great customer focus who can deliver fantastic results at our Midlands Depot. The successful applicant will already be experienced within motor vehicle engineering; knowledge of either PCV/LGV would be an advantage.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent diagnostic skills and be a good communicator as there is emphasis on team working. Familiarity of the V.O.S.A requirements would be desirable.

A full UK driving licence is essential and a PCV licence is advantageous.

This position requires shift working on a 5 over 7 basis; day shift, early shift and late shift with a guaranteed 39 hours per week and the possibility of overtime.

REPORTING TO: Engineering Manager, Assistant Engineering Manager or in their absence the Line Manager.

As a valued member of the team, your role is to help the Midlands Depot to achieve its mission and reach its goals by actively playing your part. My client pride is on maintaining local values, with local drivers serving local routes under local operation.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

To carry out effective repairs and planned maintenance to all company vehicles ensuring that all repairs are to the VOSA guidelines and to those of the companys Standard Maintenance Policy. Making sure that on completion of repairs that all company vehicles are in a safe, roadworthy and clean condition for all concerned. Ensure good Working relationships with all Engineering, Traffic and Support staff.



MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES (in no particular order)

1. Ensure the safety, well-being and comfort of all persons using and travelling on the Companys vehicles, through effective maintenance of all company vehicles.

2. Ensure that all repairs are carried out effectively and economically as possible in accordance to VOSA, RTA laws, company standards, and conform to all legislation.

3. Carry out effective repairs keeping engineering lost mileage to a minimum.

4. Preferably a valid PCV/HGV driving licence sufficient to test all relevant company vehicles the public highway (whenever possible).

5. Ensure that Safe Working practices are adhered to and that Heath and Safety of all staff is paramount.

6. Promote the good name and reputation of the company at all times.

7. Carry out all reasonable requests from management to satisfy the companys peak vehicle requirement workload and to ensure vehicles operate in a safe and roadworthy condition.

8. Be flexible and prepared, by joint agreement, to work at other locations within the company on a temporary basis should the need arise.

9. Safeguard the Companys property and be completely honest and trustworthy at all times.

10. Wear as necessary all personal protective clothing issued by the Company.

11.
