Due to expansion a new opportunity has become available for my Oxfordshire based manufacturing client to join their growing team as a Manufacturing Leader/Supervisor.
You will be working for a company that manufacturers an engineered based product that is sold via a network of dealers and distributors nationally and internationally.
You will provide leadership to motivate your team to obtain daily operation goals for their work area and drive continuous improvement initiatives and problem solve.
Please note that due to the location of this business it is essential that you drive/own a motor vehicle.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
In this position the Team Leader is expected to undertake any duties within his capability and training as and when required.
* Provide training/guidance/coaching to team members.
* Ensure Safety, Quality, Delivery, Productivity and 6S goals are achieved and monitored daily.
* Create, sustain and update Standard Work procedures.
* Assign work to team members and monitor task accomplishment.
* Able to back fill to cover employee absences.
* Ensures the team has the correct well maintained tools, supplies, and equipment needed for successful task completion.
* Resolves resource-related issues that arise so that individual and team productivity are not affected.
* Actively promotes Kaizen / Lean methodology.
EXPERIENCE
* Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
* Previous supervisory experience.
* An understanding of Lean/Kaizen methodology.
ABILITIES / CHARACTERISTICS
* Dependable and trustworthy.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
* Able to offer suggestions for improvements and implement.
* Demonstrates an ability to learn and help others to learn.
* Able to deal with conflict and resolve.
* Able to use computer systems.
To be successful within this position you will need manufacturing experience, backed with excellent people management skills. If you have automotive, Lean and a relevant qualification then that will certainly be a distinct advantage.
