An exciting opportunity is available for an Operations Manager to join a reputable and growing company in London.Working on a full time basis within a 3 year contract, the successful Operations Manager will earn £40,000 - £45,000 + bonus.

The Company was established over a decade ago as Europe’s largest retail-led Business Improvement District, to champion the interests of over 600 retailers, property owners and other businesses in London’s West End.

Supporting the MD Trading Environment, the successful candidate will provide a fresh transformational approach to how it delivers the company’s core priorities, which include safe, secure, clean and attractive streets. As the Operations Manager you will be required to engage with a number of key stakeholders which will include Members; Associate Members; Property Owners; Metropolitan Police Services; Westminster City Council; Transport for London and Greater London Authority. Your main responsibilities will include:

• Ensure timely, concise and quality information on all crime related matters are collated to be conveyed to members
• Advise the members on possible threats and assist where required with Incident Situational pre-planning
• Analysis of crime stats reported, identifying trends and maintaining records
• Based on reliable sources of information, anticipate potential business issues and pro-actively escalate to appropriate stakeholders so that the risk or disruption is mitigated to acceptable levels
• Host, facilitate and coordinate on behalf of the police crime related meetings for community members
• Promote the use of the Digital Radio link as an integral part of situational reporting -real time
• Manage cleaning contracts to highest standard of delivery
• Work with retailers to deliver a suite of value added cleansing services
• Escalate to Westminster Council any ad-hoc cleansing issues that require resolution
• Seek new opportunities to re-focus our welcome ambassador team to deliver a world class welcome service
• Influence and fast track street works to a high standard of delivery and completion
• Monitor planned pavement surfaces, road and utility works and where possible pro-actively seek solution or escalate to appropriate stakeholders so that the risk or disruption is mitigated to acceptable levels
• Champion business concerns and aspirations and ensure businesses are well informed on the development of policies and strategies that shape the BID area
• Provide support, direction and advice to members where required
• To support the MD Trading Environment in the preparation of regular Board reports

To be successful in this role you will possess excellent people and communication skills, and an ability to create and develop long-term relationships in a structured and organised way. You will have substantial demonstrable experience in a similar role and experience working with a wide range of organisations in both private and public sectors. In addition, you will have:

• Excellent customer relationship management
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as a self-starter
• Experience of writing reports and proposals
• Understanding of Town centre management /BID’S
• Experience of managing projects and controlling budgets
• Business and commercial awareness, preferably in the retail sector
