School IT Support Technician - Stoke, GBP15-18k

A great opportunity for an IT Customer Support Technician to provide onsite IT support to schools as part of a large-scale managed service with one of the 'UK's Top IT Employers'*.

RM Education is the leading provider of ICT software & services to the Education sector and employs over 2000 staff. Working within RM's Stoke BSF ('Building Schools for the Future') Programme, the Customer Support Technician will be part of a core team delivering a full ICT Managed Service (MS Server 2003,08,12/XP/7, AD, Group policies, DNS, DHCP, VMware, Citrix, wireless, network Switches etc) to a mix of newly constructed and existing schools.

You'll be predominately based at one secondary school, working alongside and learning from a more experienced engineer as you respond to 1st line incidents and issues logged by the customer. If you are passionate about ICT, enjoy solving problems, have strong communication skills and thrive on working in a busy and target-oriented environment, this is a great opportunity for you.

Skills & experience

  • Experience of maintaining and supporting networks - Windows XP and 7, email solutions such as Exchange and Outlook, and Internet/Intranet access
  • Strong problem solving abilities and excellent communication and inter-personal skills
  • Sound planning, organising and prioritising abilities. Target focused. Flexible to cope with change, be proactive and adapt quickly to a developing type of service delivery
  • Prior school ICT support experience and exposure to working in customer-oriented IT environments may be useful, but isn't essential.
