About the role

We are looking for a Senior User Researcher who wants to lead a growing UR community that will make an increasing impact in developing industry leading digital services for HMRC's customers. You will be expected to hit the ground running, working across agile multi-disciplinary team environments. Supporting and managing the portfolio of UR work in those agile teams ensuring URs are optimally placed and developed to best support our digital agenda. You will have a proven track record in using a wide range of different UR methods in a variety of fast paced agile development environments and be able to coach others in these methods. You will not be afraid of responsibility and most likely have excellent analytical and problem solving abilities coupled with well-developed social and leadership skills that have been used in previous leadership roles. The Senior User Researcher plays a critical role in the HMRC's Digital Transformation agenda. He/she will lead, mentor/coach and manage a community of user researchers and ensure they optimally generate and embed new and useful insight that will enable the business to design, deliver and iteratively improve its online services for users. The Senior User Researcher will work closely with senior colleagues to ensure the URs continues to grow as a community and that the community plays a significant role in the wider team at the Digital Centre at Newcastle and collaborate x-government.
