About the role

You are an essential component of the multi-disciplinary agile Digital Delivery Centre. Your outstanding experience delivering online, web and digital products will be essential to ensure the smooth running of a highly paced collaborative environment. The role of Lead Scrum master will not only lead the Scrum Master community but also work and collaborate with our software development teams, product managers, operations managers and other digital centre's to ensure we have the technologies and processes we need in place for our 20 teams to work efficiently and do their jobs. As Lead Scrum Master for Digital Centre you will be responsible to remove blockers and impediments and resolve issues with technology throughout the Centre on a daily basis and continually improve processes and working practices. Ensure that all our scrum teams are working consistently and delivering to the agile scrum methodology, implement reporting and monitoring progress.

You will need:

    • A passion for the web, digital and web technologies
    • Must have worked in a similar role
    • Excellent communicator
    • Strong technical skills in both infrastructure and software development
    • Extensive agile and scrum experience
    • Strong team leadership, management and mentoring skills, with the ability to motivate, energise people, encouraging self-management and collaborative working
    • Experience of leading and delivering web and digital solutions with transactional capability and interfacing to customer data systems
    • Significant background within open source' technologies such as Java, Scala, Jenkins, Ruby, Django, Python, Jenkins etc
    • Certified Scrum Master Certification is highly beneficial
    • Knowledge of WebOps, DevOps, Cloud based systems is highly beneficial
