Do you have experience of running innovative training services for disabled children in residential settings?  Do you have experience coordinating care provision to a high standard? If so, you could play a key role in a dynamic and leading national children’s charity as a Camp Care Co-ordinator.

We’re launching an ambitious programme offering more than 10,000 opportunities for young disabled people to gain the skills they need for a better future. As a Camp Care Co-ordinator you could make all the difference to them.

At Whizz-Kidz, we believe that every young disabled person has the right to a fun and active childhood, and the chance to develop their full potential in life.  Our mission is to transform their lives by providing the equipment, support and life skills they need, when they need them. We give them opportunities to build friendships and have fun, and training to help them gain skills to achieve independence and look forward to a bright future. Funded by the National Lottery through the Big Lottery Fund, our services are set to make a bigger difference than ever before.

We’re breaking new ground, driving forward ambitious and innovative plans, and we need new recruits who share our dynamic, collaborative approach and want to join a team who will be transforming young lives.

Your challenge: We deliver safe, creative, and fun residential camps for young wheelchair users to feel empowered to develop their independence, confidence and life choices. You will be responsible for coordinating all the young people’s care needs to ISO9001 quality standards. You will recruit young people to Camp Whizz-Kidz, ensure accommodation meets the needs of service users, create detailed care plans for each young person in collaboration with their families and contribute to the risk assessment of each young person attending the service. You will also oversee the care of each young person attending Camp, supervising our team of healthcare assistants, and lead on the pastoral care of young people during their time away with Whizz-Kidz.

Your profile: You will have substantial experience of coordinating care in a residential setting, working extensively with disabled young people and their parents, school staff, social workers and healthcare professionals and carers. Skilled in risk assessment and management you must be able to work effectively in a challenging environment to ISO9001 quality standards.

Young disabled people are central to everything we do and we strive to include their needs, voices and experiences in all our work – giving them responsibility to help shape what we do. If you think like us, we should work together.
