Role: Assistant Social Worker-Cambian Foster Care
Reports To: Regional Manager//Depute Manager/Senior Practitioner/Supervising Social Workers
Responsible For: Foster Carers/Children/Young People
Requirements:
Technical Competencies - Essential:
Minimum 12 months child care sector work experience
Some knowledge of the Fostering Service Regulations and National Minimum Standards
Current knowledge of child care legislation/best practice
Safeguarding Knowledge and competence
Knowledge regarding Framework requirements

Department: Fostering Service Regional Teams, Marketing, Enquiries, Placements and Quality Assurance
Main Purpose of Role:
Key Result Areas:
Individual Work with children
Group work with children
Undertake transporting of children/general assistance
Undertake life story work as determined by agency or LA
Arrange and manage activities for children and carers during holiday periods/some weekends/some evening
Arrange and manage Consultation Forums for LAC and Birth Families with support from regional team members
Assist with support groups as determined by Supervising Social Workers and Senior Managers
Develop and lead support/training for carers completing TSD and any other suitable courses
Support carers as determined by Supervising Social Workers and Senior Managers.
To work with Senior Managers and Supervising Social Workers as required to ensure quality service delivery is consistent and maintained across the Fostering Service.
To take part in Fostering Recruitment events and assist as required.
Take lead for developing articles for the Carers Newsletter
Take lead for developing articles for the Children's Newsletter
To perform any other duties as required by Quality Assurance and Senior Fostering Management Group and Fostering Director from time to time
