Commercial Assistant
Job Brief
We are looking for a Commercial Assistants to join our current team based at our head office in Manchester.
Supporting the Quantity Surveyors to provide cost management to the business and ensuring value for money for us and our Customers. The ideal role holder will have a flair for numbers with a good understanding of Excel Spreadsheets and it's functions.
Duties & Responsibilities
The main duties will include:
- Evaluating drawings and client systems, identifying site models for submission of quotes to client on agreed SOR.
- Chase client instructions and purchase order cover.
- Requesting job numbers via Commercial Admin Team.
- Use internal systems to update budgets.
- Compiling receipting requests to client for invoicing, submit to accounts.
- Assist on up-dating work in progress when instructed.
- Save and Log Client approvals.
- Keep up to date commercial reports to allow timely submission of claims to the Client.
- Prepare final accounts with all back up, checking internal and client systems.
Essential Knowledge and Skills Skills required for the role:
- Good commercial acumen.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent time management and organisation skills.
- Good IT skills, proficient with Excel skills and its functions - Sum, If, Count, V-Look Up.
- Able to work in team environment as an effective team player.
- Ability to manage complexity with changing targets.
- Customer service skills and supplier relationship management skills.
- Good negotiation skills.
Professional Qualifications Required
Maths - GCSE Grade B or equivalent.
English - GCSE Grade B or equivalent.
Hours of Work 08:30 - 17:00
